Description

A marked walk with yellow rectangles, starting from Hébronval Church

The Colanhan Nature Reserve is situated on a large hill stretching from east to west, south of the village of Verleumont. Its summit reaches 565 m. It is of biological, geological, historical and scenic interest. The Colanhan Mountain rises from the neighbouring ‘grassland plains’ and ends to the west with a spectacular sheer drop down to the River Lienne. This is what geomorphologists call a ‘perched syncline’, a structure that is very rare in this region.
