Doors and windows’ exhibition at Château de Gouvy

These are elements of our daily lives, intimately linked to our lives, which will be the subject of an art exhibition opening the door to nearly 50 artists exhibited in 2 locations.

Much more than just a component of our architecture, door and window motifs have filled the imaginations of artists throughout the ages and in all artistic movements. Far from being insignificant, they have taken on a multitude of meanings and uses in the world and works of these artists. Through the work of nearly 50 artists from near and far, both past and present, brought together in great diversity, discover how these objects, these openings, these passages, these in-between places offer a profound, questioning and poetic look at our relationship to ourselves, to others and to the world.

Architecture is a form of art. The boundary between these two disciplines is very fluid and malleable. Sometimes, it’s easier to explain architecture using a form of art. Everyone is familiar with photography, which allows architecture to be presented in a new format. Videography is also an effective method. A 3D scan of buildings can clarify their construction and history. I studied architecture in Antwerp, and the combination of heritage and contemporary art greatly interests me. With the goal of translating architecture into other forms of art, I aim to bring architecture to the general public. This results in images and videos that sometimes explain nothing but reflect the current situation.
