Autour du lac de Coo
Description
A 5 km walk, starting from the hydro-electric power station of Coo-Trois-Ponts. Just a short distance from the centre of Coo, the route is completely level and is perfectly passable with a pushchair or wheelchair.
The power station has been in operation since 1979, and consists of two upper water storage basins, a turbine hall and a lower basin. In the pumped storage system, the water is pumped into the upper pools during periods of low energy demand, for example at night and at weekends. And during periods of peak energy demand, the water runs down from the upper pools to the lower pool via the machine hall where the turbines and alternators generate the electricity required.
